Garden Tour Update

Chamaedorea cataractarum in the garden

We’re pleased to announce that one of our local orchid societies, Sociedad de Orquidistas Latinoamericana [S.O.L.] has volunteered to conduct a free garden tour in Spanish, on Sundays at 2pm, weather permitting. Our regular weekend garden tours are in English, but we do have many visitors with limited English. So the members of S.O.L. have stepped up to escort a Spanish-language garden tour. No reservation is necessary, just be here a few minutes before 2pm.

Our regular garden tours are scheduled for 11am and 3pm, weather permitting, on Saturdays* and Sundays. There’s no charge for this escorted walking tour of Bob and Mike’s private garden. All we ask is that you be here a few minutes before start-time, and meet your guide at the bridge. The tour takes about 45-60 minutes. We hope you can join one of these tours soon, the garden is gorgeous and full of exotic tropical plants, rare palms, and of course, lots and lots of orchids in the trees!

(*note, because of a special event here on Saturday, March 3, we will not be offering garden tours that day; we will resume garden tours on Sunday, March 4). We can arrange garden tours for groups, too, just contact us for details.

Lc. Gold Digger ‘Fuchs Mandarin’

We usually showcase some of the more interesting things in the garden here in this space, but right now we have something utterly spectacular flowering in the showroom – Lc. Gold Digger ‘Fuchs Mandarin’. This is, of course, one of our specimen plants of this terrific spring-blooming orchid, but we have a limited number of smaller plants available in our online catalog (“cattleya mericlones”). These are in 8-inch baskets, and we even have a few in bud to bloom soon. Order soon, we don’t have very many!
